A Sea of Celebration: Athletic Association Banquet Honors Tradition

每年春天, the Athletic Association Banquet showcases the importance of student leadership at Foxcroft. Departing seniors pass down their club head positions to underclassmen eager to step into these roles, and Fox/Hound officers and mascots pin their hats onto those who will carry on this beloved tradition. 上周日晚上, the members of Athletic Association put together a banquet that truly captured the significance of this time-honored tradition.

Working together over the weekend, the Athletic Association transformed the Dining Hall with draped blue cellophane canopies, 一缕缕灯火, 鱼群, 气球泡沫, and a giant octopus in the corner to greet banquet attendees. Students gathered happily at the designated photo opp spot, and between their excitement and the beautiful decorations, the scene was set for a wonderful evening.

After everyone was seated at their tables, senior Athletic Association Heads Caroline C.伊娃·C.，以及艾玛·L. welcomed the students, faculty, and staff. Dinner was served, cake was enjoyed, and the program got underway. 小君ior Co-Heads Patty A.莉莉·M.，弗洛拉·W. each invited club leaders to the podium to share their reflections on the year and announce their successors for 2024-25. The newly elected club leaders are stepping into big shoes to continue the work of groups like Black Student Union, 西班牙俱乐部, 电子竞技俱乐部, 时尚俱乐部, Inter国家 Thespian Society, 养蜂俱乐部, 模拟联合国, Soggie麦片, and so many others that enhance the residential and co-curricular experience here at Foxcroft.

Another community engagement opportunity that brought students together with their dorm mates this year was Battle of the 宿舍. After calculating the results for the year, Head Prefect Emma L. ’24 announced a two-way tie between Dillon and Reynolds! A tiebreaker competition of rock, 纸, scissors unfolded under the watchful eye of Emma and all in attendance, with the final victory ultimately going to Dillon! 祝贺你!

The final portion of the evening showcased the spirited tradition of Fox/Hound. This year’s officers and mascots took a few minutes to reflect on the year and what it meant to hold their positions before announcing who they would pass down to for next year. 有笑声, 眼泪, and smiles that all exemplify how special the Fox/Hound tradition is to the community. Special congratulations to our 2024-25 Fox and Hound Captains Ruby D. 25岁和帕蒂A. ’25. Our departing captains Grace P. 24岁的伊娃·C. ’24 have been great role models in leading both teams with spirit and enthusiasm all year!
